Alexandra Ortiz has over 10 years of professional experience, mainly in innovation, intellectual property, and technology transfer, with a strong background in coordinating strategic projects at the national and international levels in Intellectual Property, known for her leadership and focus on implementing solutions.

Alexandra holds a degree in Biochemical Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Morelia a master’s degree in Innovation and Technological Change Management from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional, and also has a specialization in Intellectual Property from Institute of Technology, Osaka, Japan.

She worked as a researcher in both national and multinational companies, specializing in the development of antibodies and vaccines.

Later, she collaborated with this firm, where she played a key role in the patents department, managing and coordinating patent portfolios and projects for major pharmaceutical companies, and developing intellectual property strategies and business intelligence studies to support their growth.

She has worked for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in various departments, including the Latin America and Caribbean Division, where she supported projects focused on strengthening the IP capabilities of women entrepreneurs and scientists in the region, as well as in the IP Division for Enterprises, supporting the development of IP capabilities and tools for inventors, enterprises, and startups.

Additionally, she has completed courses in project management, artificial intelligence, and leadership, the latter from the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland.

She is currently an International Consultant for WIPO and an external advisor for this firm.
